What is happening?
As part of our modernization and stability improvement initiatives, we will be migrating your website to Amazon Web Services (AWS).
How does this impact you?
Your website will be moved from our current hosting partner Rackspace to Amazon Web Services. This will enable your website to have increased performance, redundancy, scalability, and improved security among other benefits. There is no cost for this migration.
What action do I need to take?
Our team will take care of the heavy lifting to migrate your website.
As DealerSocket does not control the Name Servers for your domain, you will need to update the DNS records at migration time. This is a very quick change that your IT department can handle. We will provide you with the updated domain records that need to be updated prior to migration.
When will this migration take place?
The migration will be happening in the early morning before the start of business. There is no expected downtime with the migration.
Your Website Account Manager will reach out to you 14 days before your scheduled migration. They will provide you with the updated DNS records that will have to be updated on your migration date. We will also provide you with steps to take to help shorten the migration time period.
Approximately 3 days before migration time, teams will confirm that you have taken the steps to shorten migration time. We will reach out if there are any problems detected.
On Migration day, our teams will migrate your website to the AWS platform. This work takes place very early in the morning. Once you update your DNS records, you will be directed to the migrated website.
What if I do not update my records?
Your current website will continue to be online for a short period of time after the migration process. This is to ensure there is no disruption to customers as DNS changes can take 24 to 48 hours to fully propagate. Our migration instructions will include steps to speed up the propagation time.
After migration has started, ALL changes to your website, including inventory or pricing changes will NOT display until the DNS records are updated. It is imperative you make this change for your website to stay up to date.
Will my customers notice any changes?
To your website visitors, there will be no disruption in service.

It is important that all 3 records are added.
To do so:
Contact your DNS provider, and change the domain A record (often abbreviated as @):

2. Update the www record to a CNAME pointing to e5nlb.dealerfire.com
Contact your DNS provider, and change the record for www to:
CNAME e5nlb.dealerfire.com
To do so:
Locate your existing CNAME record for www and update it to e5nlb.dealerfire.com
OR
Remove existing A record for www and create a CNAME record instead pointing to e5nlb.dealerfire.com
